Welcome to the home page of
Our goal is to educate beekeepers on the proper beekeeping practices for the
management of honeybees in a suburban environment and the general public on the
importance of honeybees and their products.
Introduction -The Long Island Beekeeper's Club has been in
existance since 1949 to promote beekeeping in our suburban environment.
Good Neighbor Policy
- Our Good Neighbor Policy came about as
our suburban population grew and conflicts arose between beekeepers and the
general public. This policy has become the model for many beekeeping
organizations and local governments.
